"Echo is a strong matriarch that has carved a path for Indigenous representation in the Marvel Universe! I discovered Echo from David Mack's graphic novels as a young adult and never thought I would share my interpretation of her for a live action series. It's such an honor to participate in this historic moment in time, so I wanted to portray Echo with dignity, honor and courage. Echo is a symbol of how Indigenous People draw strength from the natural and spiritual worlds to help guide and protect their families and communities. I wanted to depict Echo as a modern day warrior that continues the fight for her ancestors so that their culture and traditions live on. Like a raging fire Echo is ready with two flint knives while encompassing the strength of an arrowhead blessed in ceremony to protect and remind Echo of what she is truly fighting for. As an Artist of Indigenous descent, this is also my personal mission with the works I generate and in creating this piece it encapsulates all that for me."

Canadian actress and Mohawk native Devery Jacobs debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in episode 2x06 of What If playing Kahhori, a completely original character in the series, and will also be in the upcoming Marvel Spotlight series "Echo" playing Bonnie. We hope to see more of her in the future.
