2021 Julia Child Award recipient, journalist, and community advocate Toni Tipton-Martin hosts a virtual salon to convene a panel of trailblazing women in conversation about the role of research and archives in recovering and enriching historical narratives around food history.

Featuring award-winning journalist A’Lelia Bundles, New York Times best-selling author, host, and executive producer, Padma Lakshmi, and journalist, food historian, and cookbook author, Sandra Gutierrez, this conversation explores the role women play as researchers, writers, and keepers of their communities’ histories. The National Museum of American History’s Food Historian, Dr. Ashley Rose Young, kicks off the event.

The museum extends its warmest thanks to supporters of the 25 at 25: Food Fund for the Future initiative: Cabot Creamery Co-operative, The Cafaro Foundation, Clark Construction, Al Diaz and Angela Phillips Diaz, Carl Fleischhauer, Johanna Mendelson Forman, The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts, Macchu Pisco, Napa Valley Vintners, Joan Nathan and the Gerson family, Potomac Construction, Wegmans Food Markets, Barbara and Warren Winiarski, and an anonymous friend.
