New allegations have emerged regarding Choi Soon-sil, a confidant of President Park Geun-hye accused of peddling government influence. There is also speculation the Choi Soon-sil was granted texts of the president's speeches in advance.

A news outlet reported that Choi Soon-sil, an alleged secret heavyweight with influence over the presidential office, was given access to texts of President Park Geun-hye's speeches before they were delivered. Local broadcaster JTBC reported that it has confirmed the Choi's access to 44 of President Park's speeches before they were publicly delivered. JTBC said that in addition to the 44 speeches, it also obtained some 200 files dating from June 2012 to the first half of 2014 including addresses made by President Park during Cabinet meetings, campaign events and meetings with her chief secretaries. JTBC reported that it confirmed this information through a computer which Choi had asked a building custodian at one of her offices to dispose of, and that it has also secured testimony that Choi frequently used the computer in question. Regarding the JTBC report, the presidential office announced that it is in the process of confirming the facts through various channels.
