LIVE: Uganda's Opposition Leader Jailed After Being "Kidnapped" From Kenya | Firstpost Africa

A leading opposition figure has been jailed in Uganda after his alleged kidnapping from neighbouring Kenya. Kizza Besigye, a prominent opposition politician in Uganda, has contested elections against the long-time President Yoweri Museveni at least four times in the past. On Tuesday, his wife took to social media and said that her husband was kidnapped last Saturday while he was in Nairobi for a book launch. She informed that her husband was being held in a military jail in Kampala. Besigye's arrest comes, months after Ugandan authorities launched a crackdown on the opposition. Many prominent opposition leaders have been arrested and put on trial.
