After Abigail lost her father, she wasn’t feeling like herself. And her mental distress was fueled by a stranger threatening to end her, just like her dad. When she told her husband about the incident, however, he dismissed her. He pointed to the fact that her mom had a psychological disorder. So, maybe that’s what was happening to Abigail, too.

Carol, on the other hand, was incredibly patient with her spouse. She knew that Harold had been lying to her about going to work, as she found out he had been fired a month ago. But she didn’t pressure him. She waited until he was ready. And helped him get a job he actually enjoyed. Carol even endured his continuous absence, hoping that someday, the spark would return to their marriage.

But soon, she would learn that Harold wasn’t busy at work. He was busy with another woman.
