YouTube Video Ideas For GAMING Channels by MattyGorm
If you’re looking for great video ideas for your YouTube channel, don’t worry we’ve all been there. Sometimes it can be difficult coming up with solid video ideas that will provide value to the people watching the video. In today’s video, I discuss how to do content research and keyword research to find video ideas for your YouTube channel.
It’s hard to grow on YouTube, especially if you’re a small gaming channel. But just because you’re a small gaming channel it doesn’t mean you can’t grow. It’s all about finding your niche!
But you may be wondering, how do I find my niche? So here’s my process for finding niche video ideas for specific gaming communities.
So let’s say that you are an Escape From Tarkov YouTuber, what can you create that will provide value to the viewers?
I like to start out by doing some research on social media sites, such as Reddit and Twitter.
First, I head over the subreddit of the game that I’ll be making a video on. I simply browse the subreddit to find popular posts, questions that people have asked, or anything else that may be great for a video idea. People tend to like guides, how-tos, or anything educational because those videos provide immediate value.
I also like to use the advanced search on Twitter to find YouTube video ideas. So I would set an exact phrase of the game I was playing and then optional words such as “how, where, what” - because those terms can help us find questions that people are asking on Twitter. Once you find people asking questions, make a note of the frequency you see the same questions, because that means a video would probably work for that specific question. Once you create the video, you can directly reply to those people and they’ll be glad you provided them with an answer.
I like to use AnswerThePublic.com as well, as that site lets me do some keyword research on YouTube video ideas. I can type in a keyword and then it will give me popular questions surrounding that keyword. Keyword research for video ideas is very important as it gives you data on what works and what doesn’t work.
