We are so proud of our traditional foods, however, some foreign people may not appreciate them as much as we do. Here are The 10 Worst Traditional Food in the World.

1) Escargots à la Bourguignonne, France
France... that elegant country where they only serve delicatessems and nice food, right? Eh??? what is this??? This is no other thing than snails, yes you heard well. For us, it may seem nasty, but in France and also in Spain, they're actually the opposite. You will fell strange slurping the snails out of their home but you won't regret it.

2) Tuna Eyeballs, Japan
You travel to Japan knowing that you're going to taste some fresh fish, maybe sushi... things like that. But when you find these fish eyes, all looking at you. Oh, my... how do you eat them? with a spoon? some wooden sticks? This is a challenge to try next time you decide to go to this nippon country.

3) 100 Year Old Egg, China
This egg has turn well-known because the TV-show host James Corden has used them a lot of times in his "Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts". It's actually an egg cooked in a mixture of clay, ash, salt, quicklime, and rice hulls for several weeks to several months. So no, it doensn't have 100 years old, but yes, it looks like it... pretty much. So if you dare to try it, i think your best chance is not to look at it before you eat it.

4) Escamol, Mexico
This dish may seem like a regular rice dish with some vegetables, but, if you look closely, you'll find out it's a quite extraordinary rice dish because it's cooked by using edible larvae and pupae of ants. It's not so attracting now, huh? Just try it, i'm sure you've eaten worse things than this one. And it may impress you.

5) Haggis, Scotland
If you go to Scotland, you have to try this exquisite dish. But don't ask what it is, because when they tell you that it's a pudding containing sheep's pluck (heart, liver, and lungs); minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, and cooked encased in the animal's stomach... Well, it will suddenly turn disgusting.

6) Marmite, UK, New Zealand & Australia
Yes, that's right, the king of the British breakfasts are quite disgusting for the rest of the humanity, that's why its slogan is "Love it or hate it". Actually, if you think about its process of elaboration, then, it doesn't seem so yummy. It is made from yeast extract, after brewing beer, in specific, it's the thick rests left after brewing beer. Not so good now, huh?

7) Casu Marzu, Italy
Don't let the nasty appearence of the cheese dissuade you, its elaboration is also nasty... This is a Sardinian sheep milk cheese that contains live insect larvae that are introduced on purpose to achieve this... exquisite cheese? Well, i'm sure for them it's the best of the best, but i won't try, sorry...

8) Balut, Philippines
I'm not sure if this is a nasty or a sad dish. It's a developing bird embryo between 14 and 21 days (usually a duck) that is boiled and eaten from the shell. So, when you open the egg, the aspect won't look very tasty. Maybe, it's better to eat it with you eyes closed... or not eat it at all...

9) Southern Fried Rattlesnake, United States
Were you thinking that the worst food in the USA was the SPAM? Nope, well yes, that's disgusting too, but this is worse. That moment when you see a rattlesnake and think, "hey, i'm going to boil it, cut it in pieces, dip in egg mixture and fry it" really? don't you have pork or any other regular meat? Well, it seems to be even nice, maybe i'll try it.

10) Hákarl, Iceland
Eating shark meat is not so strange, but this one is different, this is a fermented shark. It's a Greenland shark or other sleeper shark cured with a particular fermentation process (by placing it in a shallow hole dug covered with sand and stones for 6–12 weeks) and hung to dry for four to five months. It smells so much to ammonia because of the meat itself that it's eaten in small pieces.
