Aquaponics is an amazing symbiotic relationship between fish and plants. Fish produce waste in the form of ammonia. This ammonia is then broken down into nitrites and nitrates.

Plants are great absorbers of nitrogen in all forms so they provide an incredible opportunity to benefit aquarists, and those growing fish for food.

Pothos are a terrestrial plant that requires very little light and is a nitrate sucking machine! Adding these plants to our aquarium allow the fish to live in an environment that is purified by the harmful waste materials they create.
