Metroid Video Walkthrough

Описание к видео Metroid Video Walkthrough

This is a video walkthrough / playthrough / runthrough / etc of the NES game Metroid. This video is a 100% item playthrough.

I really wanted to do this earlier on, but I just couldn't get 100% items and also get the ending where you beat it in less than an hour. With how I like to do things, I couldn't accept anything better. However, after some people asked me if I was ever going to do the NES Metroid, I thought perhaps in the long run, it wouldn't matter, that if I could at least get a reasonable time, it would be fine. While my time may have been a little bit more than an hour, and perhaps if I took a different route here or there I could have shaved off a few minutes, I just don't think it would have mattered. Also, I guess one big thing I don't do in this video is die. There are a few places where if I had died and restarted, I would have been brought to another place and have been able to shave off a bit of time instead of having to actually make the trek back to wherever.

I've been playing this since it was new back in the day, so needless to say I had a bit of practice with it. While it may not have been under an hour, I'm quite happy with how it turned out. If I wanted to do a speed run while not worrying about item %, it wouldn't be so bad. I wouldn't need too many missiles (you'll notice how I took care of Kraid and Ridley) and the only thing I would really need would be a couple of life tanks.

There are a few places you'll notice I'm a bit hesitant about which door to go into since I'm wracking my brain trying to remember exactly which room to go to at what time and so forth. I do have a few notes I took on one side of the screen while I had the game going on the other, but I only really had a split second or two to look at it while moving around (unless I collected an item). I guess in retrospect I should have had a map or something instead of notes. I think the only map I ever really saw was the one in the first issue of Nintendo Power (pretty sure it was the first issue). I recall it being rather small....

Anyways, it all worked out in the end, so I'm happy with how it turned out, and hopefully some of you will enjoy watching the video as well.
