Replacing rod bearings on a BMW engine has almost become a common job to do if you have a BMW n54, n55 or N20 engines or at the very least if you frequent forums or BMW groups. Replacing rod bearings on your N55 engine is not a very easy DIY, but it sure is doable if you have enough patience and some time to wrench on your car. In this video I replace all 6 rod bearings on my BMW 335i e92, but the process will be pretty much the same on BMW 235i, 328i, 435i, 535, x3, x5 and many other BMWs that have the N54 or N55 engine. I'm using Calico KING aftermarket bearings instead of genuine BMW color coded bearings, but the process is exactly the same. I also go over how to measure bearing clearance, torque down the bolts and apply assembly lube.
