This tour took place during the historic year when President Obama was elected. Cyndi was determined to deliver a powerful message about the urgent need for greater equality in America. My Scenic Design boldly featured a UV pop-art, 60s-style graphic that showcased the traditional American Eagle holding a shield. Still, instead of red and white stripes, it displayed a vibrant rainbow, surrounded by flowers with their centers representing iconic logos of various support organizations within the LGBTQ+ community.

Cyndi made a striking entrance on stage, positioned atop a melting torch reminiscent of the Statue of Liberty. The white stars nearest the audience were intentionally arranged on a slight diagonal, creating a dynamic visual effect. Trusses with lights formed an impressive array in front of the backdrop, displaying words that define our country's rich diversity, including Hispanic, Libertarian, White, Muslim, Christian, Independent, Republican, Hindu, Transgender, and others. This entire scene, enveloping Cyndi and her guest performers, was rendered in powerful shades of gray, ranging from black to white.

During the show's finale, with Cyndi singing her iconic song "True Colors" the UV light transformed the white stars and the backdrop, which had been painted with invisible UV paint, into a vibrant display of bold colors featuring hearts and peace symbols. The backdrop erupted with a giant pink neon graphic that boldly proclaimed the word "Equality."

Collaborating with a music pop icon who is genuinely committed to championing the diverse identities within our nation was an incredible experience.
