Timothy overcame many obstacles to get into the Joint Medical Program at our University. He experienced domestic violence as a child and became the father figure to his siblings and protective of his mother.

The stress of losing the family home and car made his high school years really hard, but Timothy persevered and made it to university. It was the start of his dream of becoming a doctor. But financial pressures mean promising students like Timothy may be forced to abandon their studies.

With the support of a Shaping Futures Scholarship, Timothy could focus on his education without the constant worry of financial hardship.
