Restaurants in the Netherlands are reopening after the coronavirus lockdown - some with inventive ideas on social distance dining.
One Amsterdam establishment has introduced little greenhouses around each table to shield customers from each other and from staff.

STORY-LINE:

As the Netherlands emerges from the coronavirus lockdown, eating out looks very different.
These small greenhouses around each table are part of the safety measures introduced at the Madiamatic Eten restaurant.
The screens have been repurposed from a previous art project.
"We built them to do plant-based art projects. So they were there was a plant gallery space. And it's only that corona forces us to think again and say, look, maybe it's also nice for humans to sit in," explains Willem Velthoven, Director of the Mediamatic Art Center and the restaurant.
Restaurateurs are trying to find new ways to encourage diners to return to their tables.
The little greenhouses are one eye-catching way to show this establishment is trying to prevent transmission of the virus.
"The curiosity for and to try it is maybe encouraged by corona because actually one of the good things of this horrible corona situation is that it forces people to be open for new ways of doing things," says Velthoven.
Masked staff serve food on long planks, another way of social distancing between waiters and customers.
"It's really effective for serving food and different manners. And it can also be more like a shared experience," says  Velthoven.
"And so you sit together and that's already the decision to be together. It should be celebrated."
But what do diners think of their strange new surroundings?
Diana Krabendam thinks it's a "nice experiment".
"But what I miss a little bit is the social contact with the other people around."
"It's really odd to see that we are in a greenhouse and the food is prepared from the vegetables that are grown in their backyard. So it's the other way around. You see," says diner Frank Bloem.
The Netherlands is reopening bars, restaurants, cinemas and museums under strict conditions.
Under the new rules, bars and restaurants will be allowed to cater to up to 30 patrons inside if they adhere to 1.5 metres social distancing.
There will be no standing room in the bars and reservations will be necessary. There are no crowd limits for terraces outside, if minimum distances are observed.
