4 years ago - my journey began.After a nasty head injury left me with a fractured skull , paralysed from my right side for 30 minutes.It could not get worse. The Dr said I was lucky to be alive.
A 6 week recovery turned into 7 months - I had remained very positive,but the concussion lasted a month.Blackouts and hard times started to make my mental health a very bad state,which made me feel like I didn’t want to be here anymore.
I had many people tell me it was over,you’re done , you’re a washed up player, don’t do it…you name it.Give up ! But me,I never give up 💪🏽
Shortly lockdown arrived- I seeked for professional help, because my mental health was at it’s highest peak. With the help of a professional,things started to get better, but still my episodes with anxiety depression.. was still coming back.
The journey begins- I started off by firstly getting my self fit and in the best shape I could, mentally making my self resilient , putting myself in uncomfortable situations.
It took me 3 years to understand everything and get back to my best.
I started to love this journey- climbing up that mountain again, I started getting fitter,stronger,my mental health improved, started hitting new PBs. I surrounded my self with people who supported and trusted me- family,friends ,coach’s reading this,you know who you are ! ❤️
One door closes,another door opens - the door in the uk was closed for me , but I stared travelling around the globe to places like Dubai,Usa ,Australia- to better myself on this journey, and to take a risk in life, to gain a opportunity to go on and achieve my dream.
4 years later- I get given a opportunity from @lashingsxi @milcusa to do this, by getting drafted.
The real journey begins now - we start from the ground up!
Hard work beats talent ,when talent doesn’t work hard !
