DIE HARD (1988) vs LETHAL WEAPON (1987) | 80s Action Tournament

In this Christmas Special, Bruce Willis faces off against Mel Gibson, with Willis playing John McClane from DIE HARD and Gibson playing Martin Riggs from LETHAL WEAPON. Both movies are representative of peak 80s action, but only one will be good enough to reach the next round!

At the Film Fights podcast, Cousin Kyle, the Fob, and I are excited to announce what we believe to be a first of its kind 80s Action Movie Tournament pitting the best action movies against each other until we determine the greatest action movie of the 1980s.
We have sorted through various online greatest lists and determined the top 16 action movies from that decade.

One reason we are super-exited for this tournament is that we actually haven’t seen most of these classic action films on this list. We want to take a fresh look at these 1980s with a Gen Z perspective and see which ones still hold up, which ones do not, and ultimately determine the greatest action movie of the 80s!
