Pink Sunrise is a really good modern level that came out last year. It got nominated for Best Modern Level in 2021, and I don't think anyone really argued that it deserved a place. However, it did end up getting last place, with 15.8% of the votes, but that's not because it's bad in any way. The competition was just very strong. It was probably also the least popular level there, which definitely plays in a bit considering the nature of the Awards.

Enough about that, though, let's talk about the level. I believe this got rated so fast I didn't upload it back when it came out, but it's never too late to look back on it. This has a very distinct theme and color scheme from start to finish, and I think it's executed pretty much perfectly. Like the name implies, it's a pink level, and there's lots of small art here and there to tie it to nature. The block designs and overall structuring of the level is definitely on the modern side, and the decorations are simply but go along nicely. One minor complaint I have is that the last 2 parts add a bit too much of colors other than pink in my opinion, which make them stand out a little in a negative way. The second last introduces a lot of gray, while the final part changes the shade of pink quite a bit. I'd prefer if these two parts used a bit more of the original pink shade.Overall, though, I'd definitely say this deserved its Epic rating and the nomination. I didn't mention the gameplay here, but I'd say it's pretty much flawless, so there's not much to say about it.
