Here is the story of the Country Mouse and the City Mouse.

Long ago, in a quiet country,

a kind Country Mouse lived.

His house was small.

He ate fresh corn and potatoes.

He was very happy.

One day, City Mouse came to visit.

Country Mouse shared his food.

But City Mouse did not like it.

"Oh my friend!

This food is too hard.

Come with me to the city.

The city has yummy food!"

So, they went to the big city.

Country Mouse saw tall buildings.

He saw bright lights.

"Wow! Is the food good there?" he asked.

City Mouse said,

"Yes! Every day is like a party!"

They went to City Mouse's house.

Look at the big table!

Sweet cake.

Yummy cheese.

So much amazing food!

"Wow! City life is like a dream!" said Country Mouse.

He opened his mouth to eat.

Suddenly... CRASH!

A big cat came in!

People came in!

"Run! Hide quickly!" cried City Mouse.

They ran very fast.

They hid in a small, dark hole.

Country Mouse was shaking.

"Friend, what was that monster?

Are we safe?"

City Mouse whispered,

"Shh! Be quiet.

Cats and people are scary here.

Just wait. We can eat later."

Country Mouse was too scared.

His heart went boom-boom.

He packed his bag.

"Friend, the food here is fancy.

But I am too scared to eat.

I like my quiet home.

A simple meal in peace is better for me."

Country Mouse went back to the country.

He loved his peaceful life.

And he lived happily ever after.
