Toyota launched its classic Welcome to Our World campaign in 1989, in support of Toyotas sponsorship of the upcoming Commonwealth Games, along with the Sesqui 1990 festival.
There is minimum product placement in the montage of New Zealand landscapes and people,. In this classic Ad, John Grenell’s baritone takes on the Jim Reeves song, "Welcome to Our World",
The ad, directed by Geoff Dixon, ran for a decade; the song topped the Kiwi charts when it was released in early 1990.
