Hear the story of how Pan-Mass Challenge founder, Billy Starr, turned personal loss into the creation of a world-class athletic fundraising event and the birth of the "a-thon" industry from the first $10k to the cusp of $1B raised for cancer research. As the founder and executive director of the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge, Billy Starr has developed the largest and most efficient athletic fundraising event in the country. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
