Girmay Zahilay has been sworn in as King County Executive, making him the youngest person to ever hold the role.

Perhaps it was fitting then, that he asked young people in a room full of 200 friends, family, and political supporters, to come stand being him as he took the oath.

It was officially a youth movement.

Zahilay, at 38 years old, chose to take the ceremonial oath in the New Holly neighborhood in south Seattle, where he spent so much time as a youth.
