A small 180V boost-converter switch-mode power supply I created for use with nixie tubes. This converter was designed around the Texas Instruments LM51561 converter IC, takes 24V power input and produces 180V output up to 35 mA (powerful enough to drive 6 IN-18 nixie tubes). The power supply has been measured at about 81% efficiency.

In this video, a single nixie tube (IN-12A) is being driven by an Arduino Nano through ten MPSA42 / MMBTA42 high-voltage BJTs.
