UNKNOWN LOST WW2 ALPINE FORTRESS

Deep up in the mountains between Italy, Austria and Slovenia, when documenting Austrian Hungarian forts when suddenly making a turn in the Alps I saw part of a firing port facing us from inside a small mountain.
many times I literally stumble over things not expected, but as everywhere is battlefield when its actually aiming at us its a good enough reason to stop.

Now I know much more about what took place here during the second world war, and after, and there is a lot to tell and show you. But lets start with an unexpected discovery, one that began with a partially camouflaged firing port.

And right after this episode there will be another with the forts which preceded Fort Hermann and Kluze..
