“Appoint A Woman!” Female Activist Calls For UN Women UK To Drop Transgender Champion

In a surprising move last month, UN Women UK appointed transgender activist and model Munroe Bergdorf as a champion for the organization. However, this decision has sparked a backlash from 16 women activist groups in the UK, who argue that Bergdorf is not pro-women and that there were many other qualified women who could have been chosen for the role. The criticism is not only focused on Bergdorf 's transgender identity, but also on a series of scandals attached to her name. This has led to questions about why she was chosen and whether the appointment is suitable for a champion of women's rights.

Caroline Ffiske, director and co-founder of Conservatives for Women, one of the organizations that signed the letter condemning UN Women UK, expressed her concerns about the appointment. Fisk argued that with 33 million women and girls in the UK, it would have been more appropriate to select a woman to represent women's rights. She also highlighted that women feel insulted and annoyed when men take positions that were meant for women.
