I was a mellophone player in the 93 & 94 Cadets of Bergen County. I became a High School Band Director & did that from 1998-2000, then moved on to training bank Underwriters @ USAA Federal Savings Bank for 7 years from 2001-2009. I am now a performing “country music” songwriter, entertainer, & recording artist playing on “Texas Radio.” I just landed my first Top 40 last year with “Movie Night” See my Country music videos on my main channel “Felix Truvere” www.Felix.Band

After a full day of rehearsal on 114 degree Astroturf in Houston, TX, the Cadets end a 14 hour rehearsal with a run-through of the entire show to incorporate a new ending just learned THAT DAY in preparation for the DCI SOUTHWEST REGIONAL the next day at Rice Stadium and the DCI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS is only one week away in Jackson, MS. Typical of the Cadets (IF they are in the running to win) to make such last-minute changes to maybe regard some “suggestions” those judges mighta been mentioning & perhaps just add a bangin NEW ending to gain those extra 10ths of a point. It came down to JUST that against Star of Indiana (FANTASTIC CORPS THEY WERE!).

This was truly a brutal rehearsal. Houston was STUPID hot. I remember a baritone player went down with a heat-stroke. Ambulance had to come & all... After he went down we got more water-breaks. I actually have hours of raw footage from this rehearsal but this will just show you our run-through after a BRUTAL day.
