25 Avatar Scenes With And Without Special Effects

Avatar changed the face of filming forever. With the amount of technology they invented in order to make this movie, it’s no wonder it blew people’s minds when it first came out in theaters. But did you know this movie was scripted way back in the nineties? It was supposed to be James Cameron’s next project following Titanic but he found that technology surrounding 3D movies just wasn’t where he needed it to be to tell the story. Come 2005, it still wasn’t there but he must have been tired of waiting around. Collaborating with Fox allowed him and his team the time to create never before used technologies that are taken for granted in 2022. Like the tech where they can see pandora through the camera while they're in the motion capture studio. Facial capture was taken to the next level with Avatar. They pioneered the technology that was attached to the actor’s faces so that they could capture every little detail. The animals are all hexapedal, meaning they have six legs in this world. To create these creatures, they studied real horses, but then using the new Weta tech, they were able to create creatures from the inside out with musculature attached to bone structure. They set the standard in the industry. Before Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldaña ever came on board to play Jake Sully and Neytiri, they cast two temporary actors to play the roles and create a clip to prove they were ready.
