Eng-Ita *. The poem "Moonlike Pierrot (My Fair Friend)", included in this video, is from my collections of verses "REBIS: The Poetry and its Double" (1977).
This ironic, but also dramatic poem, and the related video, deal with wounded existence in its many shapes, in some ways always hovering between life and death, light and shadows, high flights and sudden falls. The video also expresses metaphorically poetic creation and the 'Impossible' ephemeral theatre of masks and shadows which it stages. A theatre of masks and shadows with which it is necessary to enter into contact, even if, as it happened to Orpheus with Eurydice, always, always... they will slip away.
The scenario of my encounter with the enigmatic Pierrot, half Angel and half Vampire, is the starry night where the dance of the 'Impossible' (in the sense of George Bataille) is danced .
The 'Impossible', that is the realm of poetry, is evoked here, not only by the figure of Pierrot, but also by two famous couples (Arwen & Aragorn, Edward & Bella) in which one of the lovers "lives forever" and the other is mortal.
And all these ectoplasmic figures, transmute the one into another, as it happens in the 'nigredo' of the Alchemical Opus.
The "dark and mysterious sound of the Queen's ballad" (Encore), played in an intense way by David Garrett, seemed to me perfect for my fleeting dream and masked ball with my imaginary Pierrot.
"Moonlike Pierrot" is one of the poems I read during my performance at the avant-garde theatre 'Beat 72' (Rome 1977) and during the dizzying 'First International Festival of the Poets' in Castelporziano-Rome 1979.
One of the various versions of "Pierrot Lunaire" was published in 1985 by the International Journal of Contemporary Writings "The Literary Review".

Il video è l' elaborazione visuale della poesia “Pierrot Lunaire (My Fair Friend)" tratta dalle mie raccolte di versi "REBIS: La poesia e il suo doppio" (1977) e “Dei trapassati intendimenti” (1982-83).
La poesia " Pierrot Lunaire " ironica, ma anche drammaticamente seria, tratta della vita ferita nelle sue molte forme, sempre in qualche modo in bilico tra vita e morte, tra luce ed ombra, alti voli e improvvise cadute. Il video è anche una metafora del fare poetico e dell' 'impossibile' effimero teatro che mette in scena. Impossibile teatro di maschere ed ombre con cui è necessario ed inevitabile entrare in contatto anche se, come accadde ad Orfeo con la sua Euridice, sempre... sempre ci sfuggiranno.
L’enigmatico Pierrot che emerge dall’abisso marino (il mare dell’intimità) è una figura intensamente significativa per me. Essa rappresenta l’archetipo dell’ artista nella società moderna e post-moderna. E’ l’allegorista, il Flâneur, vagamente vampiresco e macchinico. Angelo senza aureola e saltimbanco-marionetta della notte... tra pianto e riso... E’ il mercuriale doppio dell’artista.
Il Pierrot carta e matita che emerge dal mare (il mare dell’intimità che è anche il mare delle mie lacrime, del pianto del poeta-Alice) è stato appositamente creato per le mie performance poetiche dal disegnatore Paolo di Pietrantonio (Accademia d'Arte di Firenze).
Le mie due immagini 'in bianco' , tratte dalla performance "Rebis" al 'Beat 72' di Roma nel 1977, sono di G. Piredda e Agnese di Donato (Cfr."Il Poeta Postumo" di Franco Cordelli), quella 'in rosso Valentino' è di John Howard . Alla mia performance al 'Beat 72' collaborarono anche Maria Luisa Bene e Luigi Mezzanotte.
La raccolta di poesie "Rebis", di cui il Pierrot-Lunaire fa parte, vinse nel 1977 il premio come opera inedita al Beat72. skindapsos, ilvelobarocco.
