Hi friends!

It's been a long time since I last did a flip-through video. In today's video I want to review and flip-through the book "How to Make a Watercolor Paint Itself, by Nita Engle.

I love this book and refer to it from time to time to get inspired and open my horizon to what's possible to achieve with watercolor.

The idea of this book is using experimental techniques for applying the paint, in a manner that will achieve a realistic result.

This is the truly amazing part of this book - the results indeed look realistic, and the techniques are refreshing.

It's important to note that in my opinion, techniques are really secondary to drawing skills, value matching, color matching, composition and so on. This is why I believe the audience that will benefit most from this book is people who have some experience with the basics of watercolor.

With that being said, I give it many extra points on the inspiration front. If you feel like you want to learn more about what watercolor can do when you give them freedom, or if you feel like you are stuck and need some inspiration - I'd definitely check it out.
