Only the best classical music would have been selected by the Habsburg dynasty to receive the annual Habby Award – affectionately known as the ‘ancient Grammys’. Imagining that the monarchy’s four ledgers for Musical Eminence were recently discovered, the emperors’ Classical Music Composition of the Year selections can now be revealed to the world for each of the 376 years that the Habby winners would have been entered into one of the ledgers (1583 – 1958).

This video is the 4th of 40 Habby Award reveals covering the Classical Composition of the Year for each year of the decade of the 1690s (including a tie in 1699).
