DRUM PLAY ALONG by Bryan Macaranas 'The Zone' In Session with the Dave Weckl Band Book & CD (2001)

When I feel I need to test my touch on the drums, dynamics and balance and even as simple as recording instincts - I tend to look for cool Dave Weckl OR Dave Weckl Band tracks to play-along to. Dave always pulls off the cleanest of sounds, always brilliantly recorded. Sonically a big piece of inspiration to me whenever I capture a recording. 'The Zone' off the In Session with the Dave Weckl Band Book & CD (2001) a hip piece to jam to. A great track to also put the Sonor AQ2 Safari to the test; nice full range of sounds off a 'compact' little kit. I also decided to use the matching snare (a 13" snare) which is a size I tend to not play. But great fit for this tracks, and of course looks brilliant with the kit.
