Mr Alex Munnoch is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. Until recently, he was the only surgeon in the UK offering liposuction for lipoedema on the NHS. That was halted by covid and then stopped following a change in the NICE guidelines. In this talk, he goes through the evidence and experiences he has gathered from liposuction surgery in people with lipoedema over the years. He addresses concerns about the surgery and reaffirms his belief that, for the correct patients, it is an effective treatment for improving quality of life.
