In X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), The movie can't decide whether Cyclops' eye beams produce heat or just concussive force, creating contradictory effects depending on what the scene requires. During the final battle when Weapon XI aka early Deadpool uses stolen optic blast powers against Wolverine, the beams heat up Logan's adamantium claws to the point where they glow red-hot and he uses them to slice through Weapon XI while the metal is superheated. This clearly establishes that the optic blasts generate tremendous heat as part of their destructive power. Yet earlier in the film, when Weapon XI hits Sabretooth directly with the same optic blast power, Sabretooth's clothes remain completely unscathed without any burning, scorching, or even singeing. If the beams generate enough heat to make indestructible metal glow, they should instantly incinerate regular fabric on contact. The movie switches between the optic blasts being heat-based or purely kinetic depending on what's convenient for each scene, creating inconsistent power mechanics that contradict themselves within the same film.
