#MissUniversePhilippines 2020 was the first edition of the Miss Universe Philippines competition under its new organization.  Previously, the Philippine franchise of #MissUniverse was under Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. The coronation night was initially scheduled for May 3, 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been moved at least twice; first to June 14, 2020, and later was held on October 25, 2020, at Cordillera Convention Hall, Baguio Country Club in Baguio, Benguet.


The final competition was broadcast on GMA Network. #GaziniGanados of Talisay, Cebu, the winner of Binibining Pilipinas 2019, crowned her successor #RabiyaMateo of Iloilo City at the end of the event, with a new crown called "Filipina". Mateo will go on to represent the Philippines at the #MissUniverse2020 pageant.

The new Miss Universe Philippines franchise was awarded to Shamcey Supsup, national director. Supsup was the Philippines' representative to the Miss Universe 2011 pageant.  It marked the first time in the history of the Miss Universe Filipino franchise that contestants will be allowed to communicate in other local Philippine languages other than Filipino.
