OPP Member/Guest Recap then WILD conditions as the winds kick up in Hawaii | Kayak Fishing Hawaii

Summary:
First off, I’m glad I didn’t flip again! The weather conditions were causing wind swells and while the bumps are usually reasonable to deal with, they were cresting and breaking way out in the deep making for some hair raising experiences. It didn’t deter the fish from biting though, but it did impact my ability to land them ☹

Owner 4/0 & 5/0 circle hooks, Gamakatsu 4/0 & 5/0 live bait hooks, Diablo or VMC 2/0 inline hooks for stinger when using wire (hifishgear.com BKK Lone Diablo Inline Hook — HiFishGear).
Damashi: Homemade using line between 12-16lb, typically J-Flouro Samurai. I typically tie my own flies. When using lures, I like Tylah lures or CHL Nox Minnows, both I set up with gold hooks and a red bead which I find to be very effective and highly recommend them.
