Old Irrigation Technology of Persian Wheel 🛞 | Traditional Water Wheel of Punjab

This video is about old water irrigation technology of persian wheel in Pakistan. This old system of water wheel, also known as rehat water irrigation system is disappearing with every passing day because new inventions and technologies are more efficient and time saving but still many small farmers prefer old systems as new irrigation setups are expensive to install.

In this water wheel irrigation system bulls pull up water from a well or other such source to irrigate the land. Farmers use a large metal wheel with buckets and tie it above the water source or well. Bulls or oxen move the wheel and fetch the water up. This water irrigation system is known as moat, water wheel, persian wheel, dhekli, rehat, jhallaar or jhatta in different parts of Pakistan, India and various other areas of the world. 🐂🐂
