TVC 60 - Birthday of a Building | RTS London

Описание к видео TVC 60 - Birthday of a Building | RTS London

Monday 29 June 2020 marks the 60th anniversary of the formal opening of BBC Television Centre — TVC — at White City in West London.

To celebrate the anniversary, RTS London has commissioned a special programme looking at the origins and design of the building, and what it meant to BBC staff and viewers in the 1960s and beyond. The programme features archive footage, and contributions from Robert Seatter, the Head of BBC History; Phillip Schofield, TV Presenter past and present at TVC; and Roger Bunce*, TVC Studio Cameraman in the 1960s.

Book now to be sent a link to the premiere of the programme, 4pm Monday 29th June. https://rts.org.uk/event/tvc-60

An accompanying resource of links to other materials of interest is also available. https://rts.org.uk/article/rts-london...

Both the programme and the resource will be available after the premiere.

*RTS London would like to pay tribute to our wonderful TVC60 interviewee, former cameraman Roger Bunce, who sadly passed away on August 29th 2021. Roger joined the BBC in 1965, went freelance in 2001 and continued working until 2010. He was a studio trailblazer and enthusiastic supporter of TV heritage, and a great contributor both personally and professionally. He will be sorely missed.
