2024-06-25 Elisabeth Mattes DNF 118m Co- National Record @AIDA Pool World Championship Kaunas 2024

After 10 years of trying, I finally added some meters to my previous personal best in Dynamic No Fins, resulting in equaling the existing National Record for Austria.

This was not just a new personal best for me in terms of meters, but also in terms of technique and mindset.

You can't see what's going on in my head, but you can see my technique. If you compare this clip, or my DNF video from the AIDA Tropics Amed Competition from May 2024 with my old DNF videos from 2013, you'll see that my streamlining, glide, and both arms and legs movement have improved a lot, resulting in less effort, and more distance in less time.

Of course, in freediving it is not about who is the fastest, but rather, who dives the furthest or deepest, however if you are as slow as I used to be, dives get really, really long. Therefore, it is worth working on everything mentioned above to become as efficient as possible in order to being able to go further, in any discipline - except static of course ;-)
