Drones struck the city of Kazan, 900 miles from the border to Ukraine, early on Saturday leading to the temporary closure of the city airport.

Russia's Kazan airport temporarily halted flight arrivals and departures, Russia's aviation watchdog Rosaviatsia said via the Telegram messaging app.

Russian state news agencies reported that eight drones struck residential buildings but no casualties were reported. Ukraine has not commented on the strike.
