Rice cooker sponge cake

I found so many recipes online but they all called for cream of tartar (which I didn’t have) and way too many ingredients.. so I simplified the recipe and the cake turned out really really good!

Also I found out you have to refrigerate the whipping cream otherwise it’ll just melt lol

Ingredients:

In one bowl mix
• 3 egg yolks
• 25g sugar
• 40g oil
• 50ml milk
• 1/2 tsp vanilla
• 75g flour

To whisk separately:
• 3 egg whites
• baking powder
• 25g sugar

Combine together. Cook in rice cooker for 30mins.

Buttercream or whipping cream as filling/decoration + strawberries


Tips:
Use a chopstick to stir the cake batter and pop the air bubbles!


(Next time I’ll try to make the same cake without whipping separately and make everything in one bowl 👀)
