Generally, most of your medical needs will be met by your Medicare coverage. So what doesn’t Medicare cover?

Original Medicare only includes coverage for cataract surgery and your first pair of glasses after.

Routine eye exams, contacts, or regular classes will not be included is not covered by Medicare or Medigap plans.

Additionally, Medicare coverage (and Medicare supplemental plans) does not currently include routine hearing exams or hearing aids.

Original Medicare doesn’t cover routine dental checkups or bigger-ticketed items such as dentures or root canals.

However, some Medicare Advantage plans may provide vision, hearing, and dental coverage.

Lastly, Medicare coverage doesn’t include some elective procedures, such as cosmetic surgery. Foot care and long-term care (with some exceptions) are also not included in Medicare coverage.
