We were thrown out of the 2024 Carlisle Truck Nationals for Bringing a Matching Truck and Trailer!

This time at the Quick Speed Shop what started out as a fun trip to the Truck Nationals at Carlisle turned into a big old hot disaster! I was thrown out of the Truck Nationals for having a Studebaker companion trailer to my Studebaker truck, even though it was fine to have it on Friday, I was denied entry on Saturday. After sitting in line over an hour in hot weather, over heating to the point over heating to the point of boiling the brake fluid and losing brakes, only to be told I would have to leave my display trailer out of the show because "trailers are not allowed." Mind you, the rules say that tow rigs and trailers cannot be on the field, but this was neither, it was part of my display. Most of the semi trucks at the show had a trailer in tow, that was apparently fine, but not my little Studebaker trailer.

The gate worker said there was no room on the show field for trailers. I was registered in the 1949 and older street rod area, R100, which had probably 40 spaces marked out. On Friday there were TWO trucks in R100, mine and a '48 F1 Ford. Don't really think space was an issue, but the gate keeper said nope, no trailers, so we left, and might not ever register for any other Carlisle event in the future...Full rant about the subject at the 12:30 mark!
