This is the fourth video in the ETL in-depth series in Elixir Ambience. The video addresses the format conflict issue of the “no(dot)_of_cases” field whereby a "." is typically used to denote nesting, thus the format conflict. This exercise also demonstrates why Ambience ETL steps are modular, in this case, allowing us to come in at the point of API reading while it is still in bytes format and directly replacing the string to fix the format issue. This allows us to avoid a much more complicated scenario i.e. trying to fix the data after it has been interpretated as JSON. This video is a follow along. Viewers are encouraged to pause along the way in order to replicate the steps and follow along. The progress from this video will be carried over to subsequent videos.
