Kochi is the largest city of Kerala and considered as Kerala’s financial, commercial and industrial capital. The sea port in Kochi is a major port in the Arabian Sea and is one of the largest ports in India.

In this video, we are covering Fort Kochi, which is a charming sea side area. Fort Kochi is known for its Dutch, Portuguese and British architecture. While it’s visually appealing, It also subtly reminds us of the painful colonial era and tough times faced by our forefathers under such foreign rule.

Major attractions:

Princess street & Petercelli street - One of the famous and most visited streets in Fort Kochi. It hosts some great art cafes, restaurants, home stays and shops.

Jew Town - it’s a narrow street between Mattancherry palace and Synagogue. It’s famous for antique and spice shops all along its sides.

Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica - It’s one of the 9 basilicas in India, founded in the year 1505. It is a place of devotion as well as a center of historic significance, endowed with architectural and artistic grandeur and colours of the gothic style.

Master’s Art Cafe -Located in Bernard Master Road, it offers great breakfast options ranging from Indian to English breakfast.

Karthiyayini Hotel - Located in Maradu, it offers one of the best spreads of typical Kerala seafood.

Loafer’s Corner - Located in Princess street junction. This is one of the most visited cafés in town. This place is famous for its wide variety of coffees, tea, milk shakes and sandwiches.

Seagull restaurant - Located on the sea side with a great view of the harbour. It offers a large dining area with a special extended deck which gives a totally different vibe. This place is always buzzing and serves some lip smacking food options.
