Thanks to efforts from many railfans across the country and the Railways, Hubli diesel loco shed recently brought India's first WDG4 back to life, in full working condition. The loco was first sent on some local shunting duty and then put on full-scale solo mainline work. We were fortunate enough to spot it on our local section - the Hubli-Bangalore mainline - a few days ago as it made its way down to Hassan with an empty tanker train.
