This a quick demonstration on why I use multiple brands (5 currently) of oil pastels for my work. Not all brands are the same and in order for me to get layers to sit on top of an underneath layer without mixing in, I need to use softer oil pastels like sennelier and neopastel on top of harder oil pastels like craypas expressionist and van goghs.

This layering technique is how I'm able to get the look, and depth of my work.

In this video I start off with cray pas expressionist to create that first layer. Then I show how each oil pastel brand performs and looks on top of that first layer. Thanks for watching!
