In the past two weeks, we have seen a lot of discussion about recoil in the game Escape from Tarkov. However, we wanted to shed some light on how it is not working as intended in the game, specifically in terms of skils.

We conducted tests to see how much recoil control affected a players recoil by taking two PMC's in an offline co-op raid, they had identical assault rifle and smg skills, but one had max recoil control and the other had level 1 recoil control. We found that the max recoil control PMC did not have a 14 percent recoil advantage, and the areas were comparable at the 7.9 meters that we tested. This means that the recoil control skill is currently bugged and does not do anything, according to our data.

Another issue we discovered is that hit registration is also not working properly. Even though most players know that bullets are rendered client side, the impact locations and where the bullets are impacting are not even close to what they should be. This means that when playing with a squad, players cannot rely on bullets to give them information. We would also advise being skeptical about tracers, as they can also be misleading. Overall, these issues have significant ramifications for gameplay and we wanted to share this information so players can make informed decisions about their gameplay.
