7.4% of Knox adult population ran out of food in the last 12 months and couldn’t afford to buy more

At Rowville Community Kitchen - We transform lives through food.
Over the last three years we have just scratched the surface to address the food insecurity of our local community by providing community meals and fresh food parcels.

We work with unemployed jobseekers, disengaged youth and young adults with intellectual disabilities providing life and employment skills.

How do we do this? We share our passion for healthy nutritious food & sense of community.

We have chopped diced and cooked over 15000 kilos of fresh food & served over 6000 two course meals. More than 58 jobseekers have commenced work.
We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to participate in society and feel valued.
Our vision is not more handouts but education through hands on classes to become self sufficient.
This will have a direct impact on the mental and physical health by alleviating the stress associated with food insecurity
