This video includes Battlefield 5 gameplay from both the Nvidia RTX event and Gamescom. As you'll see from the video there is a little bit of everything from the build we were allowed to play so feel free to ask questions in the comments on anything new you see.

This build is likely going to be similar to what is available in the open beta so you'll have a good idea of what to expect.

The map itself feels quite similar to Seine Crossing. No air vehicles and mostly urban infantry and armor combat. The smaller bridges over the water can be destroyed and a "fortification" style bridge can be rebuilt on top of it. No Battlefield 2 bridge repairing or BF4 "magic bridges". There was almost always an alternative route to where you needed to go so flanks and getting flanked happened often.

After playing that build and the map quite a bit I'm even more concerned about class identity/fantasy. I forgot a few times which class I was playing as because the weapons and gadgets available to each class are similar or the same in some cases. That and with very little starting ammo and the ability to get your own personal self heal ( from medical resupply station ) I found myself relying mostly on the resupply stations even when playing as a squad with multiple classes playing their role. It was just faster that way.

To continue on with that last part the gameplay is slowed down in certain aspects but the overall gun play encourages faster paced combat. It makes the game feel weird at times.

Oh and on the topic of Ray Tracing and the build they had available at the Nvidia RTX event. Seeing your player's reflection like that was surprising and distracting to the point where in a multiplayer FPS arcade game it could be a hindrance. If it can't be toggled on and off in the game I could see RTX card users being at a slight disadvantage in certain situations in this game. Cool stuff but very "meh" in a multiplayer game, I prefer "art direction" to be used mainly in singleplayer aspects.
