happy birthday norton campbell!! I am a little upset that i was unable to finish this, but i ended up liking very little of what i had done. I felt that all the scenes and text placements just blended into eachother, and it wasn't something i was proud of so i ended up scrapping the whole thing. I fear i was too ambitious with attempting to do an edit that was over a minute long lol. Please ignore the ugly thumbnail, for i cannot add custom ones until i verify my phone number, which i will not be doing!

I wont get too sappy in this description because i will get embarrassed, but Norton is a very deeply tragic character to me and this song really reminded me of him so I had wanted to edit as much as possible for him. Visually, i was inspired by the album cover for Curdled Milk (Nicole Dollanganger) as well as Yearners Studio's 'Washing Machine Heart' Mep. Aesthetically I had wanted the edit to have a sort of, drawn/glossy pencil look (which i would have done after the motion & masks but i never got to that point sadly..) alongside some minor gore aspects (in the sense of body horror, 'two-headed calf' poem stuff, so more so like medical marvel stuff which would in turn match the song which was originally written about Joseph Merrick, nicknamed 'The Elephant Man'). I wanted to also include some vintagey floral patterns, had i gotten the chance. How it feels to insert Norton into the aesthetics i like (morute).

Outside of my aesthetic ideas for the edit, Norton has brought me lots of comfort and joy since i started liking him (around the summer of 2024), and has quite easily made my life better (and my wallet lighter too....). He gives me cuteness aggression lolzies. I will be baking him a cake after uploading this, but hopefully next year I will be able to make an edit for him as well (hopefully something more upbeat as well). I adore him deeply and it saddens to see him get mischaracterized so often or reduced to simple traits as i believe that he is an incredibly complex character. He means the world to me and I would give the world to him, so I hope he has a lovely birthday ♡.
