How to stop an eye flutter when nervous answers many issues surrounding the neurologic condition called hemifacial spasm. Dr Jaydev Panchwagh, a neurosurgeon who runs the MVD centre in Pune explains that stress and anxiety, public-facing job profiles, and anger or irritation can increase face twitching, or eye fluttering. But they cannot be the sole cause. Hemifacial spasm is caused by a conflict between one or more blood vesssels and facial nerve. Usually only one side of the fcae, eye or mouth is pulled to the side, either the right or the left.
