On Friday, September 13, the Center for Middle East Studies sponsored a faculty teach-in to discuss the ongoing crisis and civil war in Syria. More than 150 students, faculty, and community members packed into Ben Cherrington Hall to listen, learn, and ask questions. The faculty panel included Nader Hashemi, Director of the Center for Middle East Studies, Andrea Stanton, Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at DU and longtime Syria scholar, Chen Reis, Associate Clinical Professor at Korbel and Director of the Humanitarian Assistance Program, and Rob Prince, longtime Korbel Lecturer and peace activist. The panel was moderated by CMES Associate Director Danny Postel.
